Georgia Stars claim 16U Icebreaker title
N. AUGUSTA, S.C. – After starting the game down by 17 points in the first quarter, the Georgia Stars 16 and under team rallied back to claim the gold championship of the 10th grade division of the 2012 Icebreaker.
Paced by Keith Ray’s 21 points, the Stars never gave up after a cold start to a scrappy Worldwide team. Defense, constant attack to the rim and offensive balance helped earn the trophy with a 77-60 win.
Ray had help from his Hillgrove High School teammate B.J. Brown, who scored 15 points. Maceo Inman and Logan Bush each added 13 points in the win.
Worldwide was led by Jayln Brown’s 17 points while Ty Hudson pumped in 13 in the defeat.
