The Harrison Twins – Aaron and Andrew – said in unison that the University of Kentucky was the place where they would play college basketball on a live ESPN broadcast Thursday evening.

The journey from Houston to the Big Blue Nation has been one of the most documented recruiting stories of the year. The Harrisons picked Kentucky over Maryland, continuing John Calipari’s domination on the recruiting trail.

Long before the duo became the most sought after pair in college basketball recruiting circles, the Harrisons played at our Peach State Summer Showcase.

Let Dameon Key, Peach State tournament director, tell the story:

I received a call from Aaron Harrison Sr about three days before the 2010 Peach State Summer Showcase , he said they had expected to be playing in the Nike peach jam but for some reason it didn’t work out .

He wanted me to enter his 15u team in the tournament. The Houston Defenders showed up and played in the 17u division of the Peach State Summer Showcase and went 7-0 before they were forced to depart before their semifinal game due to flight departure time.

You never know who you’ll play at the Peach State Summer Showcase. We hope to have you in the 2013 event and have our event as a chapter in your quest to the top.
